This is about the world championship. The championship took place in 2013 this year with Anand vs. Carslen. This takes place about once a year and only doesn't take place if something unusual happens like what happened back in the Bobby Fischer match. This is reserved for the person who wins the candidate tournament goes vs. the champion. The winner wins about $2,000,000.
